Formula One Championship

In Britain we don’t often get generous forecasts...

Normally, we’d be happy enough with occasional sunny spells, followed by brief showers. However, I’ve found one forecast that should really get you excited...

Because this one will ensure your financial outlook remains bright for some time to come.

It’s quite simple really, all that needs to happen is for things to stay pretty much the same. No big shocks need to occur, no managerial meltdowns or calamitous officiating are required...

We just need Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button to continue to pick up good points throughout the second half of the Formula One season.

They currently sit first and second in the World Championship and have done for most of the campaign to date. Should they continue to do so, we’ll all be quids in. So, what price the likely outcome?

Odds on?

Evens?

No. How about 9/2!?

It’d be fair to say that Lewis Hamilton is a rightful favourite for the title having hit a bit of form recently but Button is also picking up points despite a few qualifying wobbles and was extremely impressive at the British Grand Prix, finishing 4th from a 14th place start.

Crucially, with just over half the season gone, both drivers should continue to improve as the McLaren - which came alive in the second half of 2009 - has its early season flaws ironed out. And as the Red Bull team continue to tear each other apart , it seems only a matter of time before one of them flips and goes on a rampage, screaming nonsensically about front chassis.

So, my money goes on the 9/2 straight forecast at Paddy Power for Hamilton to come first and Button second.
