Top Goalscorer

Well England are out (who really is surprised about that?) but the World Cup goes on without us and surely we can find a few more value bets out there.

Firstly I can tell you our next guaranteed no lose profit bet will be on the Argentina v Germany game on the 3rd July, it should pay out over £50 profit so don't miss out, it will be online by Thursday teatime.

I hope a few of you backed our pre-world cup top goalscorer selection of David Villa as he is looking good and is now down to 7/4 to claim the golden boot. The bookies have it a three horse race with Villa, Higuain & Fabiano being the three front runners but if you fancy a little outsider flutter it may be worth a look at Luis Suarez of Uruguay, who face Ghana in the quarter finals. He is sure to get a chance or two in that game, and it is definitely winnable for the Uruguayans, which would give him an extra match to up his goal tally.

He is currently a top priced 14/1 with BETFRED so a little each way flutter could be worth a shout.

South Korea v Nigeria

Fancy a risk free bet on this game?

It's pretty close between the two teams with the bookies split over who should be favourite. Personally after watching both teams I'm plumping for a South Korea win as I thought the Nigerians have looked pretty poor in both games, as have most African sides. But no matter what outcome you fancy you can minimise risks by backing online with William Hill.

I know many of you may already be signed up with Hills but if you have not I suggest you do so now as they have a great offer on at the moment.

Bet £10 and they will give you £30 worth of free bets.

So stick a tenner on and if you lose you have still profited by £30. Thats not to be sniffed at, just click below to take a look (don't forget to use the promo code WORLD30 when signing up).

Mexico v Uruguay

A quick posting advising on the Mexico v Uruguay game which kicks off at 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Now you may or may not be aware but a draw between the two teams virtually assures they will both progress to the second round, as it would require a 5-0 victory for France over South Africa to prevent that happening. Bearing in mind the troubles in the French camp I think our gallic cousins will be lucky to get anything at all tomorrow.

Mexico & Uruguay are also ranked 16th & 17th in the latest FIFA rankings so they could not be any more evenly matched.

The best price at the minute is 4/5 which is available with Victor Chandler so I suggest you pile on as this is sure to shorten by kick off.

Greece v Nigeria

Greece v Nigeria
World Cup 2010
June 17, 2010 - Kick off 15.00 GMT

After the Super Eagles' opening match against Argentina, we know that the team have a very good goalkeeper in Vincent Enyeama. The Hapoel Tel Aviv stopped denied Lionel Messi a hat-trick of goals and Nigeria will be confident of keeping a clean sheet against Greece. They will also be optimistic of scoring one or two at the other end, especially as they improved as the game wore on at Ellis Park.

Obafemi Martins might get the chance to start alongside Yakubu and surely Lars Lagerback should field the talented Peter Odemwingie.

While Nigeria were reasonably impressive in their opener, the same cannot be said for the Greeks, who look to be a very ordinary team. The South Koreans comfortably beat Otto Rehhagel's men, who laboured throughout the contest and it must have been worrying for the manager to see captain and talisman Giorgios Karagounis labour to the extent that he was withdrawn at half-time. It remains a fact that Greece have never won a World Cup match and this is likely to continue after this match at Bloemfontein.

Prediction: Back Nigeria @ best price 6/5 with STAN JAMES

Day 2.......

Well its day two in South Africa and it is Englands turn to take centre stage (hence the early posting - the pub is calling). If I wasn't English I would be tempted to back the draw @ 10/3 with BETFRED as the Yanks are not that bad a side, just ask Spain whose long unbeaten run was ended by the Americans. Plus we have the unfortunate scenario of a midfield pairing of Gerrard & Lampard rearing its ugly head, but as I said, patriotism rules out a serious punt on the match so I'm giving it a bodyswerve (sort of).

So todays suggested bet is a treble, stick England in (yeah I'm going against all rules of betting here, don't let the heart rule the head etc.) and you have to side with Argentina who are surely good enough to see of the Nigerians. Meanwhile I think Greece have enough in there locker to see off a poor South Korean side whose enduring inability to defend set-pieces gives them an air of vulnerability at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium today. The treble pays just over 6/1 with STAN JAMES.

And don't forget, in international football there is a fine line between success & failure, we like to call it Hadrians Wall.

The next Guaranteed profit bet will be on the South Africa v Uruguay game on June 16th and will be posted by Monday morning

Day 1 - Bet Of The Day

Here we go, the FIFA 2010 World Cup is about to kick off so lets try and take some money out of the bookies satchels.

Our guaranteed profit bet today is on the South Africa v Mexico game and can be found HERE, please take a look and get your World Cup off to a winning start.

The evening game features Uruguay v France. Now I believe in what goes around comes around and would love to see France crash out at the group stage due to the contentious manner in which they qualified for South Africa 2010 at the Republic of Ireland's expense. But fate does not always deal you an even hand and I can't see our Gallic cousins failing to qualify. They do have a difficult game to start with though, facing Uruguay who are no pushovers.

France have had to change their style of play now that Lassana Diarra has been ruled out of the tournament through injury, while their South American opponents have gimlet-eyed goal machines Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez up front. Uruguay at 11/4 looks cracking value in a three-horse race.

Bet of the day:

Uruguay to beat France @ 11/4 with Sky Bet

48 Hours To Go

Well it is nearly upon us so lets have a look at what is happening around South Africa today:

Spanish genius Andres Iniesta, should be fit for the start of the tournament. Iniesta was withdrawn as a precaution after sustaining a "minor muscle injury" in the first half of Spain's 6-0 win over Poland last night.

Tim Cahill is doubtful for the Sheilaroos' opening game against Germany on Sunday night, because of neck-knack.

England coach Fabio Capello angrily scolded a group of photographers ahead of Wednesday's training session. Capello took exception to his players being filmed inside a building that also houses a medical room and rounded on those responsible, demanding to know: "Why do you take photos of the rooms? No excuses."

Just under 48 hours to go before the World Cup kicks off so get ready to score with our guaranteed profit bet - Just follow our advice and you will make a guaranteed profit of:

£54.00 if South Africa win
£48.75 if Mexico win
£56.25 if it is a draw

Four Ways to Bet!

France Fail In Final Friendly

France lost 1-0 to China in RĂ©union island in their final warm-up match before the start of the World Cup.

The result must have dealt a massive blow to France's confidence as the 2006 World Cup finalists have conceded a goal in each of their last three friendlies while scoring only three times.

France drew 1-1 with Tunisia last weekend and beat Costa-Rica 2-1 last month. They open their World Cup campaign against Uruguay on 11 June, before taking on Mexico and hosts South Africa in Group A.

Remember, China failed to qualify for the World Cup and they were also missing several first-choice players against our Gallic cousins. With the likes of freescoring Diego Forlan to face with Uruguay, and the nippy Mexicans who did so well beating the Italians, maybe its worth taking a closer look at who may qualify from Group A.

France to win group 6/5
Mexico 10/3
Uruguay 7/2
South Africa 13/2

7 Days & Counting

Well we are down to the last week before the big kick off and things are certainly hotting up.

Last night ITALY fell to a surprise defeat against fellow qualifiers MEXICO, losing 2-1 with a late consolation goal at the death the only bright spot for the Italians. Maybe ENGLAND's recent 3-1 victory over the Mexicans is looking a better result than was reported at the time.

Elsewhere a late goal by Jesus Navas gave pre tournament favourites SPAIN a narrow 1-0 victory over SOUTH KOREA. Those taking an interest in the top goalscorer market should take note that Fernando Torres remained on the bench throughout the game after his recent knee surgery.

GERMANY were in efficient mood as usual when despatching BOSNIA 3-1 in their final warm up game in Frankfurt. One to watch in the first goalscorer market for the Germans could be midfielder Bastien Schweinsteiger, who scored two penalties yesterday.

Elsewhere striker Jozy Altidore is a major doubt for USA's opener aginst ENGLAND after being hospitalised with an ankle injury, although after watching him for Hull last season it would probably be better for the three lions if he actually played on June 12th.

BETTING THOUGHT OF THE DAY

With LIVERPOOL having dispensed with the services of Rafa Benitez, the betting is hotting up as to who will succeed him? Having looked through the betting odds I feel a couple of bets offer decent value.

Jurgen Klinsmann, who was heavily linked with the reds a few seasons ago is a massive 16/1 with Blue Square which is surely worth considering, especially as he is out of work and would require no compensation being paid by the cash strapped club.

However I think the 4/1 on offer for Kenny Dalglish is just too good to turn down as the feeling is LIVERPOOL will appoint the Scotsman on a short term contract whilst continuing to find a buyer for the club. Grab the 4/1 with VCBet as soon as you can as it is sure to tumble over the coming days.
