South Korea v Nigeria

Fancy a risk free bet on this game?

It's pretty close between the two teams with the bookies split over who should be favourite. Personally after watching both teams I'm plumping for a South Korea win as I thought the Nigerians have looked pretty poor in both games, as have most African sides. But no matter what outcome you fancy you can minimise risks by backing online with William Hill.

I know many of you may already be signed up with Hills but if you have not I suggest you do so now as they have a great offer on at the moment.

Bet £10 and they will give you £30 worth of free bets.

So stick a tenner on and if you lose you have still profited by £30. Thats not to be sniffed at, just click below to take a look (don't forget to use the promo code WORLD30 when signing up).

Day 2.......

Well its day two in South Africa and it is Englands turn to take centre stage (hence the early posting - the pub is calling). If I wasn't English I would be tempted to back the draw @ 10/3 with BETFRED as the Yanks are not that bad a side, just ask Spain whose long unbeaten run was ended by the Americans. Plus we have the unfortunate scenario of a midfield pairing of Gerrard & Lampard rearing its ugly head, but as I said, patriotism rules out a serious punt on the match so I'm giving it a bodyswerve (sort of).

So todays suggested bet is a treble, stick England in (yeah I'm going against all rules of betting here, don't let the heart rule the head etc.) and you have to side with Argentina who are surely good enough to see of the Nigerians. Meanwhile I think Greece have enough in there locker to see off a poor South Korean side whose enduring inability to defend set-pieces gives them an air of vulnerability at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium today. The treble pays just over 6/1 with STAN JAMES.

And don't forget, in international football there is a fine line between success & failure, we like to call it Hadrians Wall.

The next Guaranteed profit bet will be on the South Africa v Uruguay game on June 16th and will be posted by Monday morning

7 Days & Counting

Well we are down to the last week before the big kick off and things are certainly hotting up.

Last night ITALY fell to a surprise defeat against fellow qualifiers MEXICO, losing 2-1 with a late consolation goal at the death the only bright spot for the Italians. Maybe ENGLAND's recent 3-1 victory over the Mexicans is looking a better result than was reported at the time.

Elsewhere a late goal by Jesus Navas gave pre tournament favourites SPAIN a narrow 1-0 victory over SOUTH KOREA. Those taking an interest in the top goalscorer market should take note that Fernando Torres remained on the bench throughout the game after his recent knee surgery.

GERMANY were in efficient mood as usual when despatching BOSNIA 3-1 in their final warm up game in Frankfurt. One to watch in the first goalscorer market for the Germans could be midfielder Bastien Schweinsteiger, who scored two penalties yesterday.

Elsewhere striker Jozy Altidore is a major doubt for USA's opener aginst ENGLAND after being hospitalised with an ankle injury, although after watching him for Hull last season it would probably be better for the three lions if he actually played on June 12th.

BETTING THOUGHT OF THE DAY

With LIVERPOOL having dispensed with the services of Rafa Benitez, the betting is hotting up as to who will succeed him? Having looked through the betting odds I feel a couple of bets offer decent value.

Jurgen Klinsmann, who was heavily linked with the reds a few seasons ago is a massive 16/1 with Blue Square which is surely worth considering, especially as he is out of work and would require no compensation being paid by the cash strapped club.

However I think the 4/1 on offer for Kenny Dalglish is just too good to turn down as the feeling is LIVERPOOL will appoint the Scotsman on a short term contract whilst continuing to find a buyer for the club. Grab the 4/1 with VCBet as soon as you can as it is sure to tumble over the coming days.
