Mexico v Uruguay

A quick posting advising on the Mexico v Uruguay game which kicks off at 3pm on Tuesday afternoon.

Now you may or may not be aware but a draw between the two teams virtually assures they will both progress to the second round, as it would require a 5-0 victory for France over South Africa to prevent that happening. After the Super Eagles' opening match against Argentina, we know that the team have a very good goalkeeper in Vincent Enyeama. The Hapoel Tel Aviv stopped denied Lionel Messi a hat-trick of goals and Nigeria will be confident of keeping a clean sheet against Greece. They will also be optimistic of scoring one or two at the other end, especially as they improved as the game wore on at Ellis Park.

Obafemi Martins might get the chance to start alongside Yakubu and surely Lars Lagerback should field the talented Peter Odemwingie.

While Nigeria were reasonably impressive in their opener, the same cannot be said for the Greeks, who look to be a very ordinary team. The South Koreans comfortably beat Otto Rehhagel's men, who laboured throughout the contest and it must have been worrying for the manager to see captain and talisman Giorgios Karagounis labour to the extent that he was withdrawn at half-time. It remains a fact that Greece have never won a World Cup match and this is likely to continue after this match at Bloemfontein.
